No, she should have pressed her attack. A blow to the back of the head would have put Midnight out of commission or at least give her one hell of a concussion considering she seems to be a bit more durable than before. Waiting for your opponent to recover is just as bad if not worse than not capitalizing on a villain monologuing!
Bro. She’s been going toe-to-toe with a She-Hulk espy and isn’t even breathing heavy or particularly injured. Second, you’re making assumptions about a story you’re not even writing. Unless you’re pals with the creators you don’t know what’s gonna happen until the next page is ready for public view. Third, Finch’s mistake here was not pressing an attack that wasn’t even very effective anyway. It was not preparing for the counterattack before she attacked.
Why give Midnight a chance to retaliate? Finch being the last hero standing needs to buy enough time for Salvadora to recover so that they can either put her down or escape with Gamma Cutie. As for preparing a counterattack maybe Finch should target those gloves.
Why attack someone clearly above your level, especially when they seemed happy to ignore you is a better question. Discretion is the better (and smarter) part of valor.
wait i just noticed something.
on the second page of ravenous rebrand, the weather saviors are introduced: gale, ember, storm, hail, and sunshine.
on RR p2 pg10, everyone is shocked to see “sunshine savior”. the cast page also has reign labeled as sunshine savior (and has yet to be updated, but i assume the creator is waiting for RR p2 to be done before they update it).
HOWEVER sunny and reign cant possibly be the same person. first off, their hair is very different. sunny has thick black curly/poofy hair and a yellow outfit like admiral awesome, while reign has a purple outfit and long straight purple hair done up in a… pony tail? i guess???
much like storm.
plus, storm and reign’s powers better line up with each other, since both of their powers are shown as white with a pink/magenta outline.
idk why i typed all this, its probably just an error or smth but i thought id point it out anways
They’re the same character. Changing hairstyles is not hard, nor is changing a costume. MR does seem to have received a major power-up (and a new supranym) after spending most of this series as a joke hero-turned-villain that was so easily defeated she was practically forgotten by everyone who fought her. That running gag is apparently over with, and this comic’s gone surprisingly (I would say jarringly) dark with this arc. Might be two heroes just plain dead here, and if they’re not they’re badly hurt. Unless the reinforcements Gamma called in do better there could be more. Maybe Salvadora wakes up in time to help, but if MR is here after her suit she might equally well wind up de-powered herself.
MR’s power ramp-up feels pretty unearned to me at the moment. We’ll see if it gets justified as the story plays out.
I think that this is about the time for Sal to come around and learn something from watching Emma take on Midnight all on her lonesome, no matter how hopeless the fight is. Because, sometimes, being a hero means that there is no choice at all. That’s something that I think Carmen needs to learn.
It was at this moment Emma Dimsdale AKA Finch knew : ” Perhaps I was a bit too hasty in the negotiation process. “
