Clearly, someone put ‘stupid pills’ in the world’s fat supply. That’s the reason our skinny friend is the only one who can see through everyone’s pitiful disguises. Like in that movie ‘Mod & Dad Save the World’ (https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Mom_and_Dad_Save_the_World) where everyone but the Earthlings are abject idiots with advanced technology.
It is also pretty established that Finch is the “smart one” among the general cast. I don’t think it’s a case of “stupid pills” but rather oblivious being the default state and common sense being not so common. Also the comic is goofy in general so it’s par for the course. Even if “Ms Gabriella” getting launched fifty feet into the air and surviving the landing onto a sidewalk unscathed with her superhero costume including the logo/crest clearly visible *does* stretch even implied credulity a bit. Which is probably why “the smart one” seems to have figured it out.
“Carmen, there is literally no way I can answer that question without insulting you and your friendship is too important to me to do that. So please, change the subject.”
“Scientists were at first baffled by readings of what appeared to be a neutron star on the surface of the earth.
Then they found out it was just someone that was REALLY dense.”

The odd thing is that it felt like Carmen understood that on a previous page. Not that its a big deal or anything.
This is behavior I’d expect from Jean.

Finch seems to be seeming more and more like the ‘true main character’ with every page.
…Either that, or Carmen is just getting denser.
That horse still a way from the finish line eh?
